Snow Web is an awesome Australian web community event, anyone going? It’s a great way to combine two of my greatest passions so it’s a shame I can’t attend. Looks like lots of fun.
For some reason, web designers/developers (henceforth referred to as webd00ds) seem often to like snowboarding (skiing is an acceptable, if barely, variant). Can anyone remember that oh so web onedotoh ad for IBM, when some site is in meltdown, and some suit asks “where are the web developers?, to which came the reply “snowboarding?.
Well aussie web folk, now you too get the chance to hang with fellow web types at the snow (and if you are smart and subtle maybe even convince your boss (in the case of the employed), or Peter Costello in the case of you consultants out there that it is a legitimate business/work activity).
From an original idea by John Allsopp’s wife Sara, and kicked into action by the oh so proactive Cheryl (?chezza monkey?) Lead, Snow Web is a long weekend in the Aussie snow at Perisher, Friday through Sunday July 28-30. Ski or board by day – meet at the Man from Snowy River when your legs give out and talk webapps, web2.0, Ajax, CSS layouts, business models, RSS, mental airs, whatever takes your web developer/designer fancy.
